([he (!Ja~ette of ..3ndia EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BYAUTHORITY No. 650] NEW DELHI, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17,201SIBHADRA 26, 1940 ~'I 5496 GII2018 (I) MINISTRY OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD AND PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION (Department of Food and Public Distribution) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 17th September, 2018 G.S.R. 885(E).-In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Sugar Development Fund Act, 1982 (4 of 1982), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Sugar Development Fund Rules, 1983, namely.- I. (I) These rules may be called the Sugar Development Fund (Amendment) Rules, 2018. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in Official Gazette. 2. In the Sugar Development Fund Rules, 1983 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in Chapter XV, for the Chapter heading, the following Chapter heading shall be substituted, namely:- " Restructuring of loans". 3. In the said rules, in rule 26, the following marginal heading shall be inserted, namely: "Restructuring of loans of potentially viable sick sugar undertaking". 4. In the said rules, after rule 26, the following rule shall be inserted, namely:- "26A. Restructuring of loans affected by natural calamities.- Where, on occurrence of any natural calamity in a State, the Government of that State has declared such calamity in the Official Gazette of the State, the Central Government may. on the request from that State Government, grant moratorium for such period, as it deems fit, for repayment of loan, extend the period for repayment of loan and accordingly restructure the repayment of the loan granted in accordance with these rules".
