Amendment notification declaring Eco Sensitive Zone S.O. No. 1738(E) around Chinchioli Wildlife Sanctuary, Karnataka

EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 1556] NEW DELHI, THURSDAY, JUNE 4, 2020/JYAISTHA 14, 1942 MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 4th June, 2020 S.O. 1738(E).—WHEREAS, vide notification number 2893 (E) dated the 9th August, 2019 under sub- section (1) and clauses (v) and (xiv) of sub-section (2) and sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986) read with sub-rule (3) of rule 5 of the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, (hereinafter referred as the said notification) the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, notified an area to an extent vary from zero kilometer to 9.8 kilometers around the boundary of Chincholi Wildlife Sanctuary in the State of Karnataka as Eco-sensitive Zone; AND WHEREAS, the Government of Karnataka vide letter no. E-No.FEE 93 FWL 2019 dated the 30th November, 2019, has requested Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change to amend the said notification to remove in inconsistencies; AND WHEREAS, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has examined the request of the Government of Karnataka and decided to amend the said notification; NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of powers conferred by the sub-section (1) and clause (v) of sub-section (2) of section 3 of Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 read with sub-rule (4) of rule 5 of Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment to the above said notification namely: - In the said notification, (a) in Annexure – I, for the words, brackets and figures “From the above point the line passes through Sy. Nos. (134 part), 119, 118, 24, 25, 26, 30, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 of Miriyan village” the words, brackets and figures “From the above point line passes through Sy. No. (Part 134), 119, 118 of Miriyan Village and Sy. No. 24, 25, 26, 30, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 of Bhairampalli Village”, shall be substituted; (b) For Annexure-IIA, IIB and IIC, the following shall be substituted namely:- Note:The Principal notification was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary Part II, Section-3, Sub-Section (ii) vide S.O.
