Reconstitution of the National Advisory Council (NAC) under Section 33 of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009

Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India 2. Director, National Council for Educational Research and Training, New Delhi 3. Vice Chancellor, National University of Educational Planning and Administration, New Delhi 4. Chairperson, National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi 5. Chairperson, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, New Delhi. 6. Joint Secretary, in charge of implementation of the RTE Act, (Member Secretary). Nominated Members 1. Dr. Prem Shankar Ram, Professor, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh 2. Shri Tejum Padu, former Director (Higher & Technical Education), Arunachal Pradesh 3. Dr. Celine Pereira, Professor (Retd.), School of Pedagogical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala 4. Director, Academics, Board of School Education, Haryana The functions of the National Advisory Council shall be to advise the Central Government on implementation of the provisions of the RTE Act in an effective manner. The period of tenure of the nominated members of the Council would be 2 (two) years from the date of notification.
