GOVERNMENT OF PUNJAB DEPARTMENT OF LABOUR (LABOUR BRANCH) NOTIFICATION The fC4dcember,2023 No. th-itho tiCtsc12.8)204s1.1 f(439-3-5The following draft of rules, further to amend the Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) (Punjab) Rules, 1983, which the Governor of Punjab proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by section 35 of the Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979 (Central Act No. 30 of 1979), and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, is published as required by sub-section (1) of section 35 for the information of the persons likely to be affected thereby. Notice is hereby given that the draft will be taken into consideration by the Government on or after the expiry of a period of thirty days from the date of publication of this notification, in the Official Gazette together with any objection or suggestion, which may be received by the Labour Commissioner, Punjab, Labour Bhawan, Model Welfare Centre, Sector-64, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Email id: [email protected], from any person with respect to the said draft rules, before the expiry of the period so specified, namely: DRAFT RULES 1.(1)These rules may be called the Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) (1stAmendment) Rules, 2023. (2) They shall come into force on and with effect from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2.In the Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 1983, for rule 12, the following rule shall be substituted, namely:- "12. Fees — (1) The fees to be paid for the grant of a certificate of registration of an establishment under section 4 shall be specified below: - If the number of migrant workmen proposed to be recruited for employment or proposed to be employed in the establishment on any day- (In rupees) (a) is 5 but does not exceed 20 200 (b) exceeds 20 but does not exceed 50 500 (c) exceeds 50 but does not exceed 100 1000 (d) exceeds 100 but does not exceed 200 2000 (e) exceeds 200 but does not exceed 400 4000 (f) exceeds 400 5000 (2)The fee to be paid for the grant of a license under section 8 shall be as specified below: - If the number of migrant workmen to be recruited for employment or to be employed by the contractor on any day- (a) is 5 but does not exceed 20 50 (b) exceeds 20 but does not exceed 50 150 (c) exceeds 50 but does not exceed 100 250 (d) exceeds 100 but does not exceed 200 500 (e) exceeds 200 but does not exceed 400 1000 (f) exceeds 400 1500."
