Establishment of a Court presided over by the Additional District Judge in relation to the revenue Tehsils of Wai, Khandala and Mahabaleshwar in Satara District.

NOTIFICATION Maharashtra Civil Courts Act. No. Nyayastha 1221/601/C.R.149/DESK-11.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 14 and 19 of the Maharashtra Civil Courts Act (XIV of 1869), and of all other powers enabling it in this behalf, and in partial modification of all the other earlier notifications issued in that behalf, in so far as they relate to the revenue Tehsils of Wai, Khandala and Mahabaleshwar in Satara District, the Government of Maharashtra, hereby directs that, with effect from 14th January, 2023,— (a) there shall be a Court at Wai, in the revenue District of Satara and the said Court shall be presided over by the Additional District Judge; (b) the local limits of the ordinary jurisdiction of the said Court shall be co-extensive with and cover the areas comprising the revenue Tehsils of Wai, Khandala and Mahabaleshwar in Satara District; and (c) all the powers of the Principal District Judge, Satara in respect of the revenue Tehsils of Wai, Khandala and Mahabaleshwar in Satara District shall vest in the said Additional District Judge, Wai, except those vested in the Principal District Judge under section 9 of the said Act and except his power to assign to the Additional District Judge, at Wai or withdraw unto himself or to assign to another Court of competent jurisdiction, such matters as he thinks fit.
