Establishment of District and Additional Sessions Court at Panvel, District Raigad

LAW AND JUDICIARY DEPARTMENT Madam Cama Marg, Hutatma Rajguru Chowk, Mantralaya, Mumbai 400 032, dated the 18th July 2019 NOTIFICATION CODE OF CRIMINAL PROCEDURE, 1973. No. SANKIRNA. 0816/483/C.R. 114/DESK-11.— In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 7 read with section 9 of the code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974), in its application to the State of Maharashtra, and of all other powers enabling it in this behalf; and in partial modification of all earlier notifications issued in this behalf, in so far as they relate to the revenue talukas of Panvel, Uran, Khalapur and Karjat in Raigad District, the Government of Maharashtra, after consultation with the High Court of Judicature at Bombay, hereby, with effect from the 27th July 2019, creates a Sessions Division for the revenue talukas of Panvel, Uran, Khalapur and Karjat in Raigad District and establishes Court of Session at Panvel to be presided over by the Additional Sessions Judge, for trial of cases arising within the limits of the said Sessions Division. The Sessions Judge, Raigad-Alibaug shall also be the Sessions Judge for the Sessons Division at Panvel, and shall have the powers to withdraw unto himself or to assign to any other Court of competent jurisdiction, the cases from the said Sessions Division, or to assign unto the Additional Sessions Judge at Panvel, any such cases as he thinks fit.
