L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 688] NEW DELHI, MONDAY, OCTOBER 30,2000/KARTIKA 8,1922 MINISTRY OF SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 16th October, 2000 S.O. 959(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 5A of the Preven- tion of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 (59 of 1960), the Central Government hereby notifies the name of Shri Lalitbhai Mehta, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) as a Member on the Animal Welfare Board of India in place of Shri Kanak Mal Katara, who has ceased to be a Member on this Board consequent upon his retirement from the Rajya Sabha on the 2nd April, 2000, and for that purpose makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the erst- while Ministry of Environment and Forests number SO. 495(E), dated the 9th June, 1998, namely :— In the said notification, for serial number (22) and the entries relating thereto, the following serial number and entries shall be substituted, namely :— "(22) Shri Lalitbhai Mehta, Member elected Member of Parliament under section Divanpara, Vankaner, District Rajkot, Gujarat.
