Che Gazette of India EXTRAORDINARY TR &y PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY . 2079] 7% Reht, greafaam, 97 10, 2021535 20,1943 No. 2079] NEW DELHI THURSDAY, JUNE 10, 2021/JYAISTHA 20, 1943 7% e, 9 5, 2021 B 3112 GI2021 (&) FIT & QTIRRAT &7 SN F7d g0 AT qad i fAfeam & (ardefarsie) srftng==, 2019 & frwforfea AT T FAT E, AT - I AT F AT 4 F @ (|Il) ALHATHT-17 F ITEE (xix) F TWIF |, "W THEH TEATT [F1.5.12-12/2018-4r 111] MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 9th June, 2021 S.0. 2239(E).—WHEREAS by notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change number S.O. 1242(E), dated the 8th March, 2019 [hereinafter referred to as the Island Coastal Regulation Zone (ICRZ) Notification, 2019], the Central Government declared certain coastal stretches as Coastal Regulation Zone and restrictions were imposed on the setting up and expansion of industries, operations and processes in the said zone; AND WHEREAS, the Central Government have received representations from Andaman and Nicobar Administration regarding inclusion of National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) for identifying sites for mining of sand under the provisions of the ICRZ Notification, 2019; AND WHEREAS, the National Coastal Zone Management Authority in its 42nd meeting held on the 19th March, 2021 has also decided that the inclusion of NIOT need consideration; AND WHEREAS, the Central Government, having regard to the provision of sub-rule (4) of rule 5 of the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, is of the opinion that it is in public interest to dispense with the requirement of notice under clause (a) of sub-rule (3) of rule 5 of the said rules for amending the said ICRZ Notification, 2019. NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) and clause (v) of sub- section (2) of section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986) read with clause (d) of sub- rule (3) of rule 5 of the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendments in the Island Coastal Regulation Zone (ICRZ) Notification, 2019, namely: - In the said notification, in paragraph 4, in clause (IIT) ICRZ-1B, in sub-clause (xix), in the proviso, after the words and brackets “Institute of Ocean Management (IOM), Chennai”, the words and brackets “or National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT)” shall be inserted.
