Notification Declaring Eco Sensitive Area S.O. No. 3235(E) Amendment in Environment Protect Act, 1986

EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 2887] NEW DELHI, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2020/BHADRA 31, 1942 MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 22nd September, 2020 S.O. 3235 (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 6 and 25 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, namely: — 1. (1) These rules may be called the Environment (Protection) Second Amendment Rules, 2020. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, in rule 5, in sub- rule (3), in clause(d), the following Proviso shall be inserted, namely :- ‘‘Provided that for the purpose of this clause, the period of national lockdown from 25 th March, 2020 to 31 st May, 2020 on account of COVID-19 pandemic shall be excluded for the purpose of counting the number of days for publication of the final rule or order or notification.’’.
