GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL LAW DEPARTMENT Legislative NOTIFICATION No. 204-L.--26th February, 2021.—The following Act of the West Bengal Legislature, having been assented to by the Governor, is hereby published for general information:— West Bengal Act VII of 2021 THE JHARGRAM UNIVERSITY (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2021. [Passed by the West Bengal Legislature.] Short title and commencement. [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Kolkata Gazette, Extraordinary, of the 26th February, 2021.] An Act to amend the Jhargram University Act, 2017. WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Jhargram University Act, 2017, for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Seventy-second Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows:- 1. (1) This Act may be called the Jhargram University (Amendment) Act, 2021. (2) It shall come into force at once. West Ben. In the long title of the Jhargram University Act, 2017 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), for the words "Jhargram University", the words "Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University of Jhargram" shall be substituted. 3. In the Preamble of the principal Act, for the words "Jhargram University", the words "Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University of Jhargram" shall be substituted. 4. In sub-section (1) of section 1 of the principal Act, for the words "Jhargram University", the words "Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University of Jhargram" shall be substituted. 5. In clause (26) of section 2 of the principal Act, for the words "Jhargram University", the words "Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University of Jhargram" shall be substituted. 6. In section 3 of the principal Act,— (a) in sub-section (1), for the words "Jhargram University", the words "Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University of Jhargram" shall be substituted; (b) in sub-section (2), for the words "Jhargram University", the words "Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University of Jhargram" shall be substituted; (c) in sub-section (3), for the words "Jhargram University", the words "Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University of Jhargram" shall be substituted. 7. In section 38 of the principal Act,— (i) in sub-section (1), for the words "Jhargram University", the words "Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University of Jhargram" shall be substituted; (ii) in sub-section (2), for the words "Jhargram University", the words "Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University of Jhargram" shall be substituted. 8. In clause (a) of sub-section (8) of section 65 of the principal Act, for the words "Jhargram University", the words "Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University of Jhargram" shall be substituted. 9. In sub-section (1) of section 66 of the principal Act, for the words "Jhargram University", the words "Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University of Jhargram" shall be substituted. Amendment of Preamble.
