Establishment of Additional District and Sessions Court at Mangrulpir, District Washim

LAW AND JUDICIARY DEPARTMENT Madam Cama Marg, Hutatma Rajguru Chowk, Mantralaya, Mumbai 400 032, dated the 24th February 2023. NOTIFICATION Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. No. CRC. 2019/CR. 168(II)/Desk XII.— In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 7(3) read with Section 9 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974), in its application to the State of Maharashtra, and of all other powers enabling it in this behalf; in so far as they relate to the revenue tahsils of Mangrulpir, Manora and Karanja in Washim District, the Government of Maharashtra, after consultation with the High Court of Judicature at Bombay, hereby, with effect from the 1st March, 2023, directs that, the Sessions Division created for the revenue tahsils of Mangrulpir, Manora and Karanja in the Washim District and Link Court of Sessions established at Mangrulpir for trial of cases arising with the limits of said sessions division of Mangrulpir vide the Government Notification, Law and Judiciary Department, No. CRC 1193/5417/(106/05)/XII, dated the 25th October, 2013, which was presided over by the Additional Sessions Judge, Washim shall be the Sessions Division for the revenue tahsils of Mangrulpir, Manora and Karanja in Washim District and a Court of Sessions at Mangrulpir, as specified in the Government Notification, Law and Judiciary Department No. CRC 1193/5417/(106/05)/XII, dated the 25th October, 2013, and the said Court shall be presided over by the Additional Sessions Judge for trial of cases arising within the limits of the said Sessions Division. The Principal District and Sessions Judge, Washim shall also be the Additional Sessions Judge for the Mangrulpir sessions division and shall have the powers to withdraw unto himself or to assign to any other Court of competent jurisdiction, the cases from the said Sessions Division, or to assign unto the Assistant or Additional Sessions Judge at Mangrulpir, any such cases as he thinks fit.
