EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 655] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, MARCH 3, 2017/PHALGUNA 12, 1938 MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 3rd March, 2017 S.O. 729(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 and Section 5A of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960 (59 of 1960), the Central Government hereby reconstitutes the Animal Welfare Board of India consisting of the following persons as its Members for a period of three years w.e.f. 01.03.2017, namely:- 1. Director General of Forests & Special Secretary, Member (ex-officio) under Section 5(1)(a) Ministry of Environment and Forests, New Delhi 2. The Animal Husbandry Commissioner, Member (ex-officio) under Section 5(1)(b) Ministry of Agriculture, New Delhi 3. The Joint Secretary or Member under Section 5(1)(ba) his representative, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi 4. The Joint Secretary or Member under Section 5(1)(ba) his representative, Ministry of Human Resources Development. New Delhi 5. The Inspector General of Forest Member under Section 5(1)(bb) (Wildlife), Ministry of Environment & Forests, New Delhi. 6. Shri Mohan Singh Ahluwalia, Haryana, Member under Section 5(1)(bc) 7. Shri Dhan Pal Singh, Member under Section 5(1)(h) Gayatri Parivaar Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidhyala, Haridwar The Central Government hereby nominates the Director General of Forests and Special Secretary to be the Chairman of the Animal Welfare Board of India as per sub-Section (3) of Section 5 of the aforesaid Act. Nominations under Section 5(1)(f) and Section 5(1)(g) for the remaining four positions of the Board shall be made separately.
