MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE (Department ofAgriculture and Co—operation) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 14th October, 2008 G.S.R. 73l(E).———In exercise ofthe powers conferred by clause (xii) of sub~section (2) ofSection 96 ofthe Protec— tion ofPlant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Act, 2001 (53 of2001), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules to amend the Protection ofPlant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Rules, 2003, namely :— 1. Short title and commencement.~~—( 1) These rules may be called the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights (Amendment) Rules, 2008. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Second Schedule to the Protection ofPlant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Rules, 2003, after entry 4, the following entry shall be inserted :— Serial No. Fee payable on matters Amount of fee ,; Form number 4(a) Fees for registration of Extant Variety as notified Rs. 1000 — under Section 5 ofthe Seeds Act,il966 (54 ofl966) (Rupees one thousand only) UPMA CHAWDHRY, Jt.
