JUDGMENT

This writ petition filed seeking a direction to investigate the case through an independent agency, like the Crime Branch.

Petitioner is the defacto complainant in Crime No.1619/2023 of Kannur Town Police Station. He alleges that he has been cheated for several Crores and despite registration of the FIR, no proper investigation is being conducted.

The learned Public Prosecutor upon instructions submitted that by order dated 27.01.2024, the State Police Chief has issued orders directing transfer of investigation of Crime No.1619/2023 of Kannur Town Police Station to the State Crime Branch and the Additional Director General of Police, Crime Branch has been directed to entrust the investigation of the case, to a competent officer or a team of officers of the Crime Branch. The aforesaid submission is recorded.

In view of the transfer of investigation to the State Crime Branch as mentioned above, nothing further survives for consideration in this writ petition and the same is closed.
