This appeal under Section 54 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 is filed by the State assailing the judgment and decree dated 07.02.2014 in L.A.R.No.237 of 2010 of the II Additional Sub Court, Thiruvananthapuram.

The 1^st respondent-claimant entered appearance through a learned counsel. The learned Standing Counsel for the 2^nd respondent-Acquisition Authority took notice.

The property of the 1^st respondent was acquired for the purpose of widening Pattoor-Choorakkattupalayam road. Notification under Section 4(1) of the Land Acquisition Act was issued on 21.11.2007. On the protest of the claimant regarding compensation awarded by the Land Acquisition Officer, the matter was referred and the Reference Court enhanced land value. The judgment of the Reference Court is under challenge in this appeal.

The learned Senior Government Pleader would submit that the matter involved in this appeal was settled in the Lok Adalath held at Thiruvananthapuram under the auspices of the District Legal Services Authority, Thiruvananthapuram. A copy of the letter dated 14.06.2023 received in this regard by the Senior Government Pleader from the District Collector, Thiruvananthapuram, is made available for our perusal. The learned Senior Government Pleader would submit that in the light of the settlement arrived at between the parties, this appeal need not be proceeded with further.
