JUDGMENT

The petitioners are registered associations formed with the objective of participating in the annual boat races in the State. The petitioners apprehend that their teams will not be included in the Champions Boat League, as they could not reach the top positions in the 67^th Nehru Trophy Boat Race, which is the selection race for the next Champions Boat League. According to the petitioners, respondents 5 to 9 had secured the top positions by playing fraud. Pointing out this aspect, the petitioners had preferred Exts. P4 and P4(a) representations before the 1^st respondent, which are now pending before the 3^rd respondent. The petitioners are seeking a direction to the 3^rd respondent to dispose of Exts. P4 and P4(a) expeditiously.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Pleader.

Considering the limited relief sought, this writ petition is disposed of directing the 3^rd respondent to take up Exts. P4 and P4(a) and pass reasoned orders thereon within one month of the receipt of a copy of this judgment, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners.
