JUDGMENT Dated this the 13th day of July, 2022

Petitioner was the holder of Arms license for a 12 Bore SBBL gun. The license was renewed periodically up to 31.7.2014. On expiry of the licence period, the petitioner had submitted an application for renewal on 22.8.2014, as evidenced by Ext.P1. The writ petition is filed, aggrieved by the delay in taking a decision on the renewal application.

2.Learned Government Pleader submits, on instructions, that, reports from the police and revenue authorities have been called for and once the reports are received a decision will be taken on the petitioner’s application.

The writ petition is hence disposed of directing the 1^st respondent to issue notice of hearing to the petitioner, on receipt of reports from the revenue and police authorities and to take a decision on the petitioner’s application within one month thereafter. The process, as indicated above, shall be completed within an outer limit of three months.
