JUDGMENT

In this petition, filed under Article 227 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner, who is the sole accused in S.C.No.412/2022, on the file of the Assistant Sessions Court, Neyyattinkara, seeks early disposal of this case, within a time frame fixed by this Court.

In view of the minimum prayer, a report from the learned Assistant Sessions Judge, Neyyattinkara, was called for and it is reported by the learned Assistant Sessions Judge, as per letter dated 28.9.2022, that this case stands posted to 31.10.2022 and more than 500 five year old sessions cases are pending before the said court. It is submitted further that this case is a new case and it is not categorized in the priority list. Therefore, 6 months time is sought for disposal of the matter.

Acting on the report, there shall be a direction to the Assistant Sessions Judge, Neyyattinkara, to dispose of S.C.No.412/2022, pending before that court, within 6 months from 31.10.2022.
