The petitioners in this Crl.M.C are accused numbers 1 to 4 in Crime No.1015/2013 of Poonthura police station.

The offences alleged against the petitioners and other accused are under Sections 324, 307 & r/w 34 of IPC. The prosecution against the 3rd accused is now pending SC.NO.1499/2021 before the Principal Assistant Sessions Court, Thhiruvananthapuram and the prosecution against accused numbers 1,2 and 4 are pending as SC.260/2019 before the same. Even though the prayer sought for was for quashing the final report submitted against the petitioner, when the matter was taken up, learned counsel for the petitioner has confined the relief to a direction to the learned Assistant Session Judge to complete the trial within a time frame. Accordingly a report was called for and in response to the same, the learned Assistant Sessions Judge informed that, both the aforesaid cases can be disposed on within a period of 8 months from 18/07/2022. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case I find that the period mentioned by the learned Assistant Sessions Judge is reasonable.

In the result these Crl.M.C is disposed of directing the Principal Assistant Sessions Court Thiruvananthapuram to dispose of SC.

NO.260/2019 and SC.NO. 1499/2021, as expeditiously as possibles at any
