The petitioner is before this Court alleging that his fiancee, the daughter of respondents 6 and 7, is in their illegal custody due to their objection to that relationship. We directed the 4^th respondent to get a statement of the alleged detenue. On going through the statement, we were of the opinion that the alleged detenue should be produced before the Secretary, District Legal Services Authority ['DLSA' for brevity], Thiruvananthapuram and passed an order to that end on 20.10.2021.

2. Today the girl was produced before the Secretary, DLSA, Thiruvananthapuram. The Secretary, DLSA informs us that she has interacted with the detenue, who has expressed her decision to go with the petitioner. We have also interacted with the alleged detenue, who unequivocally expressed her desire to join the petitioner and live her life with him. We interacted with the petitioner and also the father of the

detenue. We find no reason to interdict the detenue from

following her wish and permit her to go with the petitioner.

The Writ Petition (Criminal) is disposed of.
