JUDGMENT

Ravikumar, J.

The grievance of the petitioner is virtually against the abandoned condition of Jalavanthi or Elavanthi, which is a building with a pond meant to be used as resting place for Santhies of the temple in Sree Vallabha Swami Temple, Thiruvalla. The petitioner in such circumstances seeks a direction to the Devaswom Board to take up the repair and maintenance work of Jalavanthi by issuing a writ of mandamus.

Heard Adv. Sangeetha, representing the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for Travancore Devaswom Board.

The learned Standing Counsel submitted that in respect

of the issue involved viz., the repairing of Jalavanthi or Elavanthi of Sree Vallabha Swami temple, estimate was prepared, plan was sanctioned and above all, today the construction work is going to be inaugurated. It is further submitted that the Temple Advisory Committee of Sree Vallabha Swami Temple undertook to complete the said work through sponsorship and that the work

would be completed, as early as possible. The said submission made by the learned Standing Counsel, as authorised, is recorded.

In the said circumstances, it is evident that the grievance of the petitioner which persuaded him to approach this Court by filing the captioned writ petition is not surviving any further. Appropriate action has been take by the Devaswom Board for repairing the Jalavanthi or Elavanthi. In such circumstances, recording the aforesaid submission and making an observation that the work shall be completed as expeditiously as possible, the writ petition stands closed.
