JUDGMENT

Petitioner is the sole accused in C.C.No. 880 of 2019 pending

before the Judicial First Class Magistrate's Court, Muvattupuzha, in which offences punishable under Sections 279 and 304A of the IPC are alleged against the petitioner. According to the learned counsel, the petitioner is about to migrate to Canada and the process is at the final stage; since the case is pending, he is unable to move out. So he wants an early disposal of the case.

A report was called from the learned Magistrate. The learned Magistrate has stated that due to restrictions in the pandemic, regular sittings were not taking place, that he has to give priority to 5 plus year old cases. In spite of the same the learned Magistrate has offered to dispose of the case within a period of six months.

Even though, C.C. No. 880 of 2019 is a recent case, in the circumstance that the petitioner wants to go abroad, it is only appropriate that the case be given an early disposal. The learned
