The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this
contempt matter may be closed as the Central Government has complied
with the directions issued by this Court and appointment has been made to
the post of Chairman in Kerala Administrative Tribunal. The learned ASGI
has mentioned about the statement filed on behalf of respondents 1 and 2
and particularly, pointed out to paragraph 8, which reads thus:
“8. In this context, it is respectfully pointed out that the Ministry of Law and Justice has no role in the matter of effecting appointment to the post of Chairman, KAT, which falls under the domain of DOPT under Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. Further 1st respondent is presently the Cabinet Secretary, Government of India and not the Secretary of Law and Justice and is not directly concerned with the subject and hence his name may be deleted from array of respondents. Moreover the 2nd respondent namely, Deepak Khandekar had already

retired from service with effect from 31.08.2021. These submissions also may be recorded while closing the Contempt Petition.”
It is submitted that the petitioner has arrayed the respondents who
have no role in the matter. The submission is recorded. In view of the fact
that the directions issued by this Court have been complied with, no
further orders are required in this matter. Recording the submission of the
learned ASGI, this contempt matter is closed.
