The petitioners are the accused in Crime No.475 of 2021 of Paravur Police Station in Kollam District alleging commission of offence under Section 498A read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code. The 1^st petitioner got married to the defacto complainant on 24.02.2019. The allegation is that almost immediately after the marriage, the 1^st petitioner started mentally and physically harassing the defacto complainant by stating that she is not good looking and by demanding more dowry. It is also alleged that the defacto complainant attempted to suicide on an earlier occasion. The 2^nd accused/2^nd petitioner is the mother of the 1^st petitioner. The petitioners are also accused of having sold 20 sovereigns of gold ornaments of the defacto complainant which was gifted by her parents at the time of marriage.

The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are absolutely innocent and the allegations are raised only to settle the matrimonial disputes between the 1^st petitioner and the defacto complainant.

I have heard the learned Public Prosecutor also.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the

case and taking into consideration the fact that the custodial

interrogation of the petitioners may not be necessary for a proper investigation in the matter, I am inclined to grant anticipatory bail. Hence, this application is allowed directing that the petitioners shall be released on bail, in the event of arrest in connection with Crime No.475 of 2021 of Paravur Police Station in Kollam District subject to the following conditions:-

(i) Petitioners shall execute bonds for sums of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only) with two solvent sureties each for the likesum to the satisfaction of the jurisdictional Court;

(ii) Petitioners shall appear before the investigating officer in Crime No.475 of 2021 of Paravur Police station as and when summoned to do so;

¶31

(iii) The petitioners shall not attempt to (contact the victim or the de facto complainant) or interfere with the investigation or to influence or intimidate any witness in Crime No.475 of 2021 of Parvur police station;

(iv) The petitioners shall not involve in any other crime while on bail.

If any of the aforesaid conditions are violated, the investigating officer in Crime No.475 of 2021 of Paravur police
