The petitioner is an accused in S.C.No.1296/2016 on

the files of the Court of the Additional Sessions Judge-IV,
Thiruvananthapuram. He seeks interference of this court to
direct the trial court to dispose of the matter expeditiously.
The matter has been pending since 2016. A report was called
for from the learned Additional Sessions Judge, and it is
submitted that at least 10 months time may be required to
dispose of the matter because it is the District Government
Pleader, who is appearing in the case as Special Prosecutor
also. And there is another case S.C.No.1221/2019, which has
been directed by this court to dispose of before April, which
has been scheduled for trial.

Under the circumstances, the learned Sessions
Judge has sought time of ten months to dispose of this case.
Going through the circumstances, it is seen that this is a case
of the year 2016 and therefore, the O.P(Crl) is disposed of with
a direction to the learned Additional Sessions Judge-IV,

Thiruvananthapuram, to dispose of the S.C.No.1296/2016 as
expeditiously as possible at any rate within a period of 10
