Dated this the 27th day of October, 2020.
The petitioner, a woman (IFS) officer had
filed a complaint against the second respondent alleging criminal defamation under Section 500 of IPC, which is now pending as C.C.No.108 of 2019 on the files of the Judicial Magistrate of First Class-II, Peerumedu. The grievance of the petitioner is regarding the delay in disposing of the case, which according to her, has emboldened
the second accused to continue with his criminal activities.
2. In the report called for by this Court, the learned Magistrate has stated that the case is posted for appearance of the accused and that considering the pendency of the cases in the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-II,

Peerumedu, four months time would be required to dispose the case.
3. In view of the limited relief being granted hereunder, notice to the second respondent is dispensed with.
The Crl.M.C is disposed of directing the learned Magistrate to take earnest efforts for disposing C.C.No.108 of 2019 within four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
