J U D G M E N T

The petitioner has participated in the district level competitions conducted as part of the State School Kalolsavam for the event 'Bharathanatyam'. Though the petitioner has secured A Grade, she could secure only fourth place in the competition. Only those candidates who could secure A grade

and first place are entitled to participate in the State level competitions. As the petitioner was unable to participate in the State level competitions, she preferred an appeal challenging the decision of the panel of judges. The appeal preferred by the petitioner was rejected in terms of Ext.P3 order. Ext.P3 order is under challenge in the writ petition.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as also the learned Government Pleader.

It is seen that the ground raised by the petitioner in the appeal was that the petitioner has performed well.

Ext.P3 order indicates that the appeal

committee has found that there is no basis for the appeal, after perusing the video of the programme and after evaluating the performance of other participants. Further, the petitioner could secure only fourth place in the competition and she could secure only 15 marks less than the marks awarded to the candidate who secured the first place. I do not think that this is a fit case in the aforesaid circumstances for interference in the decision of the appeal committee. The writ petition, in the circumstances, is without merits and the same is, accordingly, dismissed.
