The petitioner who is an accused, in criminal cases filed by various persons for cheating; is before us seeking police protection. The petitioner's contention is that the petitioner had only a limited role in the transactions which have led to the registration of the crimes. The allegation is that on 23.3.2018 at about 11.30 p.m some goondas forcefully trespassed into the house of the petitioner and threatened him with dire consequences if he does not pay compensation to respondents 3 to 6. A F.I.R has been registered and the investigation is being proceeded with. The learned Senior Government Pleader submits that the petitioner is a person who is accused in crimes registered in the Varantharapally Police Station and Ernakulam Central Police Station. We are of the opinion that the Writ Petition is only a counterblast to the crimes registered and there is no real apprehension or threat to the life of

the petitioner as has been made out. We dismiss the
Writ Petition without any costs.
