who has entered appearance through counsel. I am satisfied that the matter has been settled between the parties. The first respondent/victim has stated in the affidavit that the dispute between him and the petitioner has been settled and that he has no objection to quash the proceedings against the petitioner. There is no public interest involved in the case. The dispute between the parties is basically private in nature. Even if the prosecution against the petitioner is allowed to continue, it would not serve any useful purpose as the possibility of conviction of her is very remote and bleak. I am satisfied, in the light of the principles laid down by the Apex Court in Parbatbhai Ahir v. State of Gujarat (AIR 2017 SC 4843 ), that this is a fit case in which the power of this Court under Section 482 Cr.P.C can be exercised to quash the proceedings against the petitioner. 5. In the result, the petition is allowed. The proceedings against the petitioner alone in Crime No.252/2019 of Kannur Town police station are hereby quashed.
