THIS WRIT PETITION (CIVIL) HAVING BEEN FINALLY HEARD ON 24.10.2018, THE COURT ON THE SAME DAY DELIVERED THE FOLLOWING:

JUDGMENT

1.Petitioner has approached this Court with the following prayers:-

“i)Issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction directing the 3^rd respondent to forward the corrected school records with application of the petitioner to the 1^st respondent within a time limit as prescribed by this Honourable Court.

¶24

ii) issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction directing the 1^st respondent to carry out the correction of the name of her father as 'NAZARUDEEN E' and to incorporate the initials of her mother in Ext.P1 certificate as A.S.AZEERA BEEVI, within a time limit as prescribed by this Honourable Court.

2.Heard learned counsel for the petitioners, learned standing counsel appearing for the CBSE. Though notice has been taken out to the 3^rd respondent, there is no appearance for the 3^rd respondent.

3.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner has preferred application to the 3^rd respondent

to correct the mistake in the school records. There will be a direction to the 3^rd respondent to forward the application preferred by the petitioner for correction of the name of the petitioner's parents in the CBSE certificates after correcting the school records to the 2^nd respondent within a period of three weeks from the date of a copy of this judgment. On receipt of the application from the 3^rd respondent, the 2^nd respondent shall take appropriate steps to consider and pass orders on the application within one month thereafter. The petitioner shall also remit an amount of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five thousand only) as cost before the 2^nd respondent for consideration of the application belatedly. The petitioner shall produce a copy of this judgment before the 3^rd respondent for compliance.
