J U D G M E N T
The grievance of the petitioner in this writ petition concerns the inaction on the part of the competent authority under the Arms Act in dealing with an application preferred by the petitioner for renewing the gun licence issued to the petitioner. Ext.P1 is the application preferred by the petitioner for renewal of the licence. It is stated by the petitioner that Ext.P1 application has been preferred by the petitioner as early as on 10.10.2012.
Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the

case, I deem it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition directing the competent authority under the Arms Act to dispose of Ext.P1 application preferred by the petitioner within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. Ordered accordingly. Needless to say that while complying with the direction aforesaid, the competent authority shall advert to Exts.P3 and P4 judgments of this Court as well.
