The petitioner in OP.No.659/2004 on the file of the Family Court, Kozhikode is the appellant herein. The above original petition was filed by the appellant herein against the respondents who are the husband and father-in-law of the appellant for return of gold ornaments and money. It is alleged in the petition that the marriage between the appellant and the first respondent was solemnized on 23.3.2003 and at the time of the marriage, 160 sovereigns of gold ornaments, a Qualis car and Rs.2 lakhs was given to the respondents. Her mother also gave a Rado watch to the first respondent at the time of marriage. After three months of marriage, the first respondent went to his work place and returned only on 28.7.2004. After he came from abroad, the second respondent used to come and reside at the residence of the first respondent with his wife and son. At that time they used to harass her. Further they have misappropriated 150 sovereigns of gold ornaments and also Rs.2 lakhs given at the time of marriage. They also did not return the car. The first respondent pronounced talaq on 6.9.2004 and their marriage was dissolved.
