from the accused by the service co-operative bank concerned as security deposit on 18.3.2009. The case of the accused was that the said amount was given when he was offered job as a daily collection in the said society. The accused has a case that the abovesaid Sri.Gopalakrishnan, the secretary of the co-operative society, had insisted that apart from the said deposit, he should give a blank signed cheque as security as well as salary certificate of another person and that accordingly he had given Ext.P-1 cheque as a blank signed cheque to the said Sri.Gopalakrishnan, the secretary of the society. D.W-2 has deposed that he is a school teacher in a Government school and that at the time when the accused was offered job he had given a salary certificate on 18.2.2009 and that he had given the same to Sri.Gopalakrishnan, the secretary of the society and that when he entered the cabin of the secretary, he had seen the accused and one Sunikumar, were present there and that the security deposit of Rs.5000/- and a blank signed cheque was also entrusted. Later when he came to know that Sri.Gopalakrishnan, was suspended from service, he had requested to return of the salary certificate and the administrative committee of the society sought time. The only ground on which D.W-2 was disbelieved by the trial court was that the close friend of the accused.
