The petitioners filed the above writ petition, claiming preference in the selection of Armed Guards, which was notified by the respondent Bank. The petitioners were engaged as temporary
hands and it is on that basis that they make the preferential claim.
In any event, on the filing of the writ petition, an interim order was passed on 11.01.2006 stipulating that the recruitment will be subject to the result of the writ petition.
Bank submits that after the writ petition was filed, selection was made
as per a notification, in which the petitioners were also permitted to participate in the selection, subject however to their eligibility. In any event, the selection having been completed 10 years back and no

challenge having been made against the same, the consideration of
the above writ petition would be a mere academic exercise.
The writ petition would stand closed.
