JUDGMENT
The above writ petitions were filed challenging a selection of the year 2005, wherein the challenge was specifically with respect to identification of posts for reservation. Though initially an interim order of stay of selection was granted, the same was modified by a detailed order dated 19.01.2006, in which the operative portion reads as such:
“24. Under these circumstances, the interim orders passed in WP(C) Nos.23534/05, 27624/05, 26775/05, 25174/05 and 30531/05 will stand modified and all the selections can be finalised and appointments can be made to all the posts mentioned in Ext.P1 notification (in WP(C) No.23534/05) except the post of Lecturers in Malayalam. It is

however made clear that finalisation of selection and issuance of appointment orders on the basis of such selection to the posts other than the post of Lecturers in Malayalam will be subject to the result of the writ petitions. In the case of Lecturers in Malayalam, the direction that appointment orders shall be issued only after getting permission of the Court will continue for two months.”
In such circumstance, leaving the question open, the writ petitions would stand closed.
