Petitioner has submitted an application for renewal of his gun licence, which is pending consideration before the respondent, non-consideration of the same on an early date is the grievance voiced by the petitioner. Admittedly, petitioner has submitted Ext.P3 also seeking early consideration of the renewal request made by the petitioner.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader, there will be a direction to the respondent to take on board the application submitted by the petitioner and take a decision on the same in accordance with law after providing an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. Petitioner will be at liberty to canvass the proposition of law laid down by this Court in respect of the subject matter in its various
