1.The petitioner is the accused in C.C. No. 75 of 2015 on the file of the Judicial First Class Magistrate, Kattakkada. The prayer in this petition is to issue necessary directions to the court below to try and dispose off the aforesaid case within a time frame.

2.A report was called for, from the learned Magistrate. It is reported that 12 witnesses have been cited by the prosecution and a period of 3 months is sought for, to complete the trial proceedings.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances, this petition is disposed off, directing the learned Magistrate to take up and dispose off the matter, within a period of 5 months from the date of receipt of the copy of this order.
