Petitioner is the Temple Advisory Committee of Mazhukeer Mahadeva Temple near Chengannur. It is averred in the writ petition that for renovating the temple structure including the Sreekovil, the Deity has been shifted to a temporary temple (Balalayam). Even though orders have been passed by the Board approving the estimate, so far the work could not be undertaken by the Advisory Committee because of the lack of skilled workers. The Committee has requested the Board to undertake the work.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that apart from the approval of estimate, plan has also been approved. But the site is remaining idle for the last two years resulting in grave hardships to the devotees. The Balalayam is also in a dangerous condition and there is no progress in the matter.

Learned Standing Counsel for the Board submitted that since the Advisory Committee is not prepared to execute the work, the Board will have to tender the work and the said process will be initiated immediately.

We record the same and direct the Board to complete the tender process, within a period of two months from today and see that the entire works are completed within a further period of six months. Since it is pointed out that the Balalayam is in a dangerous condition, urgent steps for repairing the Balalayam will be undertaken by the 2^nd respondent, the Executive Engineer, Mavelikara which will be completed within one month.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
