This is a suo moto proceedings initiated by this Court based on a
news item published in the Mathrubhoomi daily dated 17/11/2012 during
the last Mandala Makaravilakku season. This Court in the Order dated
17/11/2012 and by a later Order dated 05/12/2012, has noted the importance to provide signals in danger zones in various rivers and Sign Boards wherever necessary in different languages for the attention of
devotees. This Court had directed the Engineers of the Irrigation
Department having jurisdiction over the area to do the needful forthwith to
prevent further calamities of grave nature. As far as this year is concerned,
we have already passed a similar order in D.B.P.No.136/2012. In the light
of the above, D.B.P is closed.
