attend a funeral, he along with his wife and children went to the Thaliparamba Police Station at about 9 A.M. and when he arrived the Station, the accused hit on the chin of the complainant and thereafter detained him in the Police Station till 12 noon and thereafter at about 12 noon, the accused assaulted the complainant by beating with his hands on his cheek and also by kicking on his abdomen. Thereupon according to the complainant, the accused also caught hold on the beard of the complainant which resulted in sustaining pain to the complainant and the said overt acts were done by the accused from the veranda of the Thaliparamba Police Station. The said incident was witnessed by one Suresh, who came to the Police Station enquiring about the complainant and his family members. It is the further case of the complainant that, having sustained injuries, he got admitted at the A.M. Hospital, Thaliparamba from where the police recorded his statement.
