JUDGMENT

The petitioners are students of the 6^th Semester Mechanical Engineering under the 2^nd respondent-College. They were residing in the Men's Hostel attached to the College.

The prayer in the Writ Petition is for a direction to the respondents to complete the repairs of the Hostel, so that the petitioners will be able to reside in the hostel.

The learned Standing Counsel for the University submitted that clashing factions of the students have indulged in violence, which resulted in the damage to the building and other structures, etc. therein, which is denied by the learned counsel for the petitioners. It is also submitted by the learned Standing Counsel that repairing works are going on and the total estimated cost for the same is `1,30,000/-. It is submitted that the work will be over by the end of July, 2012 and thereafter the hostel can be opened. The same is recorded and the Writ Petition is closed.
