This writ petition is filed with the following prayers:

call for the records leading to this case and issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to grant grade promotion to the petitioners with retrospective effect from the date of attaining 25 years of service and disburse all consequential benefits with arrears.

Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, I direct the respondents to consider and pass orders on Ext.P3 representation of the petitioners as early as possible, at any rate, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment, after affording the petitioners an opportunity of being heard.
