Basant, J.
The petitioner, a 39 year old married woman whose husband is employed abroad, has come to this Court seeking issue of directions under Article 226 of the Constitution to respondents 1 to 3 police officials to afford protection to her against the improper, contumacious and culpable activities of respondents 4 to 6, local persons who allegedly are vexing and harassing the petitioner.
“In the meantime there shall be a direction to respondents 1 to 3 to afford necessary protection to the petitioner against any contumacious, culpable or illegal conduct of respondents 4 to 6. If there be any such instances, petitioner shall be at liberty to

complain to respondents 1 to 3 who shall thereupon take the necessary action to afford protection to the petitioner.”
This interim order remains in force now.

The learned Government Pleader after taking instructions, submits that the police shall ensure that the petitioner is protected against contumacious, culpable and improper activities of respondents 4 to 6. We are satisfied in these circumstances that the request of the learned counsel for the petitioner that interim directions may be made absolute and proceedings may be closed, can be accepted. It is not necessary to wait for service of notice on the other respondents.
a) This writ petition is allowed.
b) The interim order dated 10.3.2011 is made absolute.
