J U D G M E N T

The petitioners' grievance in this writ petition is that although they have submitted an applications under Section 28A of the Land Acquisition Act, the same are not being processed by the respondents. The learned Government Pleader submits that the applications submitted by the petitioners have been processed and sent to the District Collector for appropriate further steps in the matter. It is submitted that some more time would be required to finalise the proceedings as the fund for payment of additional compensation has to be provided by the Railways, which is the requisitioning authority.

Taking into account the facts and circumstances of the case, I dispose of this writ petition with a direction to the respondents to complete the proceedings under Section 28A of the Act in respect of the applications submitted by the petitioners, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this judgment.
