The petitioner is sentenced for life

imprisonment in Spl.C (P) No.38/2018 on the file of the Additional District and Sessions Judge, FTSC-I, Chikkamagaluru, and the petitioner has filed this petition for directions to the first respondent to admit him to general parole.

It is undisputed that the petitioner has been admitted to parole for thirty days from 08.12.2025 by this Court in W.P.No.26135/2025. The petitioner has filed this petition for extension of parole. This Court, on 30.12.2025 has extended parole to the petitioner until 12.01.2026 and the order in this regard is because the petitioner's wife has met with an accident on the day he had to surrender on the expiry of the parole. The petitioner has surrendered and is in custody from 12.01.2026.

Mr. Mahesh Kumar K. M, the learned counsel

for the petitioner, submits that this Court must grant further extension in view of the fact that the petitioner's wife is confined to bed because of the injuries suffered in the accident. Mr. B. Ravindranath, the learned Additional Government Advocate, is heard for disposal of the petition in the afore circumstances.

This Court is of the considered view that the petitioner must necessarily file an application in the prescribed form under the Karnataka Prisons and Correctional Services Manual, 2021 [for short, ' the Manual' ] and the first respondent must secure records from the jurisdictional Superintendent of Police and forward the same to the office of the Director General of Police, Prisons and Correctional Services. The petitioner must be at liberty to file an application and there must be a direction to the first respondent [to forward the report] and to the Director
