The grievance of the petitioner is directed towards the impugned endorsement at Annexure-D dated 30.09.2025 issued by the respondent-Tahsildar, Alur Taluk. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the land in question viz., 2 acres 30 guntas in Sy.No.37/P6 of Kadalu Village, Kundur Hobli, Alur Taluk, Hassan District, stands in the name of Sri.Swamy Gowda S/o Ningegowda. After his death, one of the legal heirs filed a suit in O.S.No.122/2008 seeking partition and separate possession. Ultimately by way of a compromise petition

filed between the parties, the property in question has fallen to the share of the petitioner Sri.Manjegowda. Since the other parties have relinquished their rights over the property in question. In terms of the compromise decree the petitioner is seeking to enter his name in the revenue records. However, the impugned endorsement has been issued by the Tahsildar calling upon the petitioner to furnish the original grant records.

This Court in W.P.No.38517/2025 disposed of

on 05.02.2026 has held when the Tahsildar had called for production of the original grant orders, while considering similar application for change of khata, on the basis of a Government Order bearing No.ComE156/SSM/2024, Bengaluru dated 25.11.2024 issued by the Revenue Department of the State Government, that it is only in cases where phodi and durasth is sought in respect of granted lands (dharkhast), such information can be called for. The said Government Order cannot be made use of by the Tahsildars in case of change of khata. Recently, it

appears that the Revenue Department has made provision for consideration of such applications for change of khata, without the intervention of the Tahsildars.

However, in the present case, this Court finds that the compromise decree passed in O.S.No.122/2008 is not registered in the office of the jurisdictional Sub-Registrar. The petitioner is required to get the compromise decree registered. Once the decree is registered, the 'J' slip will be generated from the office of the Sub-Registrar and forwarded to the Tahsildar. The Tahsildar shall be duty bound to proceed to mutate and enter the name of the petitioner, in terms of the decree passed by the competent Court.

In that view of the matter, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to get the compromise decree registered. As and when the registered 'J' slip is generated and forwarded to the office of the respondent-Tahsildar, the Tahsildar shall proceed to enter the name of the petitioner in the revenue records in
