Writ Petition No. 11449 of 2026 (S-RES), filed under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India; High Court of Karnataka (S.R. Krishna Kumar, J.), order dated 16-04-2026. Petitioner Sreekantha sought mandamus against respondents 1-4 (Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department; Commissioner and Joint Director, Department of Collegiate Education; Principal, Government First Grade College, Vijayanagar) for payment of remuneration from 09.12.2025 to the end of academic year 2025-2026 and for continuance of his service till the end of that academic year. His grievance was that his legal notices/representations dated 19.12.2025 (Annexure-D) and 20.12.2026 (Annexure-E) had not been considered nor any order passed thereon. Learned AGA for the respondents submitted that, if reasonable time were given, the respondents would consider the representations and pass necessary orders. ORAL ORDER

In this petition, petitioner/s seeks the following reliefs;

"a) Issue directions in the nature of mandamus to the Respondent No.1 to 4 to pay the remuneration to the Petitioner, from 09.12.2025 to the date of end of academic year 2025 to 2026.

b) Direct the Respondents to continue the Petitioner's service till the end of academic year 2025 to 2026.

c) Pass any other Order(s) as this Hon'ble court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the present petition.

AGA for the respondents and perused the materials on record.

It is the grievance of the petitioner that his legal notices/representations dated 19.12.2025 at Annexure - D and 20.12.2026 at Annexure - E submitted to the respondents has not been considered so far by them nor any order has been passed on the same. Under these circumstances, the petitioner is before this Court by way of the present petition.

Per contra, learned counsel for the respondents submits that if reasonable time is given, they would consider and pass necessary order on the said representations.

In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances and rival submissions, the respondents are hereby directed to address the grievances of the petitioner and consider his legal notices/representations dated 19.12.2025 at Annexure - D and 20.12.2026 at Annexure - E and pass appropriate order / take
