Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though an appeal under Section 14A(2) of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, has been filed, inadvertently even section 483 of BNSS, 2023, has been invoked in this petition. He submits that therefore, petitioner may be permitted to convert this criminal petition into criminal appeal as provided under Section 14A(2) of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

The submission is placed on record. Petitioner is permitted to convert this criminal petition into criminal appeal as aforesaid.

For statistical purposes, this criminal petition stands disposed off.
