Learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned counsel for respondent No.2 have filed the application under Section 320 read with Section 482 of Cr.PC, praying to record the compromise entered into between the parties and to allow the petition in the interest of justice.

Petitioner Nos.1 to 4 being accused Nos.2 to 5 and respondent No.2 being the complainant are present before the Court and they are identified by their respective counsels.

Parties admit the terms of compromise petition, which reads as under:

"1. That, accused No.1 and respondent No.2 are husband and wife. Their marriage was solemnized on 14.04.2019.

2. Respondent No.2 herein has lodged a complaint before respondent No.1 Police which came to be registered in Crime No.145/2021 of Channapatna Police Station, Ramanagara, at present FIR is transferred to Puttenahalli Police Station, Bengaluru for offences under Sections 498A, 143, 323, 504 and 506 read with Section 149 of Indian Penal Code 1860 and Sections 3 & 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, pending on the file of the learned Prl. Civil Judge (Jr.Dn) & JMFC Court,

3. That, after filing of the case, accused No.1 and respondent No.2 had filed the mutual divorce petition in MC No.1026/2025 before the learned IV Addl. Principal Judge, Family Court at Bengaluru and same came to be disposed of on the basis of compromise and divorce has been granted to the parties and respondent No.2 agreed to withdraw and the criminal case in CC No.15251/2022 on the file of the learned 30^th ACMM, Bengaluru and Respondent No.2 withdrawn the above said criminal case and also agreed to cooperate for quashing the above criminal petition.

4. The petitioners and Respondent No.2 submit that at the intervention of well-wishers the Petitioners, Respondent No.2 and Accused No.1 are intending to compound the case and Respondent No.2 is not intending to proceed further with the case against the petitioners.

5. Respondent No.2 further submits that there is no coercion or compulsion on her to compound the offence, but on her own freewill agreed to compound the case. Hence this application seeking kind permission of this Hon'ble Court to compound the offences.

WHEREFORE, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to accord permission to compound the offence in Crime No.145/2021 of Channapatna Police Station, Ramanagara, at present FIR is transferred to Puttenahalli Police Station, Bengaluru for under sections offence 498A, 143, 323, 504 and 506 read with Section 149 of Indian Penal Code 1860 and Sections 3 & 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, pending on the file of the learned Prl. Civil Judge (Jr.Dn) &

Respondent No.2 while admitting the terms of compromise petition specifically states that she has no objection to allow the petition.

In view of the compromise petition, I am of the opinion that the continuation of criminal proceedings against the petitioners will be in abuse of process of law and no purpose will be served by prosecuting the petitioners. Hence, I proceed to pass the following:

(i) The Petition is allowed .

(ii) The Criminal Proceedings initiated in Crime No.145/2021 of Channapatna Police Station, Ramanagara, pending on the file of the Principal Civil Judge (Jr.Dn) and JMFC IPC, Channapatna, Ramanagara District, Ramanagara, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 498A, 143, 323, 504 and 506 read with Section 149
