Nataraj, J.), 28.11.2025, WP No. 34366 of 2025 (LB-BMP), filed under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India: Five residents of Sunkenahalli/Basavanagudi sought a writ of mandamus directing the Chief Commissioner, the Executive Engineer (Chickpet Division) and the Joint Commissioner of the Greater Bengaluru Authority to inspect Ashwath Katte Ground, Sunkenahalli, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru-560 004 and forthwith stop the ongoing unauthorized fair and amusement rides, pursuant to their unactioned representation dated 12.11.2025 (Annexure-C) to respondent No.2, and further to ensure that no public fair and/or amusement is permitted without lawful approvals, fire and other mandatory clearances under the Greater Bengaluru Governance Act, 2024. The petitioners have sought for a writ in the nature of mandamus to direct the respondent Nos.1 to 3 to inspect the premises at Ashwath Katte Ground, Sunkenahalli, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru-560 004 and forthwith stop the ongoing unauthorized fair and amusement rides mentioned in their representation dated 12.11.2025 submitted to the respondent No.2. They have also sought for a direction to the respondent Nos.1 and 3 to strictly follow the Greater Bengaluru Governance Act, 2024 and ensure that no public fair and/or amusement is permitted without lawful approvals, fire and other mandatory clearances.

When this petition was listed for orders, the learned counsel for respondent Nos.1 to 3 has filed a memo and enclosed therewith certain documents to show that the respondent Nos.1 to 3 have already cleared the aforementioned Ashwath Katte ground and no activity is undertaken in the ground.
